Quality Controller

Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Quality Manager, ensuring all work carried out is to the required standards and meets company and customer specifications
- Carry out testing and/or inspections of purchased and manufactured products to ensure compliance with product specifications and/or customer requirements
- Produce inspection reports as required
- Identify and report non-conforming products and take ownership of the nonconformity process, reporting progress weekly
- Measuring of products with various hand tools (vernier, thickness-gauge, etc.)
- Follow inspection procedures and keep records up to date
- Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives
- Ensure the cleanliness, neatness and orderliness of area of responsibility
- Ensure all documentation is in line with business and customer requirements
- Work closely with quality and production teams to maintain high standards and communicate required Corrective Actions
About You
- Familiar with working to ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and associated procedures and has a genuine desire to raise quality standards and to achieve improvement and consistency across the business.
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative or work as part of a team.
- High level of proficiency in the use of standard computer systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc)
- Experienced in the use of ERP and MES systems
- Ability to established Root Cause and appropriate Corrective Actions quickly and in a methodical manner
- Experience of internal auditing to ISO 9001 requirements (qualification preferred but not essential)
- Excellent time management, able to balance regular tests/inspections/audits with urgent requirements
Desirable Attributes/Skills
- Ability to interpret standards and perform tests and/or inspections as required to defined standards and/or procedures
- Able to maintain and improve standards in quality and positively influence behaviours across all functions and at all levels
- Able to communicate test or technical information appropriately at various levels within the organisation
- Experience of monitoring and developing KPIs for quality requirements/targets
