Acadiana Paint & Supply Case Study

Based in Louisiana, US, Acadiana Paint & Supply have been providing automotive and industrial paint products and related supplies to their customers since 1996. As one of the leading jobbers in the state they support hundreds of collision repair businesses through their five outlets as well as provide specialist training and support to automotive refinishers. 

The Challenge 

For several years Acadiana have been looking to supply masking tape products to their automotive customers. They were particularly looking for a specialist tape range which went above and beyond the tapes provided by the usual manufacturers. 

The team at Acadiana explained; “Our customers know that they can trust Acadiana to recommend products which are not only of the highest quality but will deliver real benefits such as saving time and money in their collision repair businesses.”  

They continued; “We have always supplied tape for use in collision repair but with budgets getting squeezed we knew that we needed to offer a range that would improve their day-to-day operations.   

The Solution 

Acadiana initially contacted JTAPE through Total Sales and Marketing, their manufacturers rep agency in the US. They had already seen reviews of JTAPE specialist automotive tapes online and knew that the brand was recognised throughout Europe as being both innovative and delivering real benefits for collision repair operations. 

Luke at Acadiana explained; “From the moment we got in touch with JTAPE, we knew they would be the right specialist masking tape provider for our customers. Together we talked through the JTAPE range and its applications as well as identified the benefits for our customers.” 

As part of their commitment to introducing the JTAPE range to Acadiana customers, Jon Bobroff, US National Sales Manager for JTAPE, delivered two training events for Acadiana customers. These included practical demonstrations of specialist foam tapes such as, Primeshield and No Edge Blending Tape, which showed them the product benefits and how much time could be saved on each job. 

In addition, Jon also worked with Luke at Acadiana over three days visiting customers who could not attend the training sessions, giving shop-based demos to painters and collision repair shop owners. 

The Results 

Since the initial training sessions, Acadiana is now stocking the full range of JTAPE specialist masking tapes that are available in the US and have seen a dramatic increase in the sales value from each customer order.
